In 1999, during another slow winter season for my construction business, I decided to utilize my creative and analytical skills and embark into a new career in Web Design and Development. I started taking courses on-line at Brooklyn College for web design and when I completed, started to take courses at The Chubb Institute for computer programming. In 2001, my friend (who was already designing web sites) and I started our own Web Design business, Art Web Design. Although we had a few clients people were not to interested, at that time, in investing money for advertising in this new market. I started working for a hosting company doing Unix system administration and Tech support to help pay the bills but was eventually persuaded to go back to work as a Foreman in construction. We closed up the office but still continued to design and develop web sites part-time under the new name of A1 Developers. In 2007, when construction got slow again, I decided to invest more time into the re-selling of domains, hosting and internet securities and started WebY2k.com. With few new clients coming to A1 Developers over the last few years, I decided to go it on my own and freelance my talents and experience on my own web site.
